The Strokes

The Strokes are an American indie rock band formed in New York City in 1998. Composed of lead singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti, they were key in the early-2000s post-punk and garage rock revivals. Their debut EP, The Modern Age, in 2001 led to a record deal with RCA, followed by their acclaimed album Is This It. Subsequent albums include Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth. After a hiatus, they released Angles, Comedown Machine, and a Grammy-winning album in 2020, The New Abnormal.
