Stuart MacRae

Stuart MacRae is a contemporary Scottish composer, born in Inverness. He first came to prominence when his work 'Fusion' was performed at the opening night of the BBC Proms in 1997, which led to a composing residency with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. MacRae's compositions often embody dramatic flair and deep musical intelligence, with operas like 'The Assassin Tree' and 'The Devil Inside', in collaboration with novelist Louise Welsh, receiving international recognition.
