Samuel Cohen (June 18, 1913 – January 15, 1993), known professionally as Sammy Cahn, was an American lyricist, songwriter, and musician known for his romantic lyrics to films and Broadway songs. He had a series of hit recordings with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day and others. His notable songs include the Oscar-winning 'Three Coins in the Fountain' and 'Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!'. Born in New York City to Jewish immigrants, he began his music career in vaudeville and established significant partnerships throughout his career, winning four Oscars and joining the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
