Russell Lissack is a musician best known as the lead guitarist and keyboardist of the English rock band Bloc Party, which was founded in London in 1999. The band, co-founded by Lissack and Kele Okereke, settled on the name Bloc Party in 2003. They have explored various musical genres but are anchored primarily in rock, with some elements of electronica and house. Bloc Party released their critically acclaimed debut album 'Silent Alarm' in 2005, which went platinum in Britain and won Indie Album of the Year at the PLUG Awards and NME. Their subsequent albums include 'A Weekend in the City' (2007) and others, with successful tours, especially in the UK and US.
