Rued Langgaard

Rued Langgaard was a late-Romantic Danish composer and organist, known for his unconventional music. Born in Copenhagen to musical parents, he demonstrated remarkable talent at an early age. Langgaard's music, influenced by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, features dramatic mood swings and masterful orchestration. Despite his prolific output, including 16 symphonies, he faced rejection from the musical establishment. Only later in his career did he secure a permanent position as an organist in Ribe, where he eventually died, unrecognized in his time.
