Robert Plant

Robert Anthony Plant was born on 20 August 1948 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England. Interested in music from a young age, he left school in his mid-teens, forgoing a career in accounting to join the English Midlands blues scene. He worked various jobs, including road construction and retail, while cutting singles and performing in bands such as the Crawling King Snakes. Plant's encounter with drummer John Bonham led them to join the Band of Joy, blending blues with psychedelic music. In 1968, he joined Jimmy Page to form the iconic rock band Led Zeppelin.
