Robert Bernard Sherman

Robert Bernard Sherman was an American songwriter renowned for his musical film collaborations with his brother, Richard M. Sherman. Born to Russian Jewish immigrants in New York City, Sherman had a prolific career, significantly impacting the genre of motion picture musicals. His outstanding contributions include scores for 'Mary Poppins', 'The Jungle Book', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', and 'Charlotte's Web', with 'It's a Small World (After All)' among his most famous works. As a youth, Sherman was multifaceted, excelling in violin, piano, painting, and poetry. His talents extended to writing and producing radio and stage programs during high school. Despite an injury in World War II that resulted in a lifelong disability, Sherman's artistic vision never faltered.
