More about Ralph Blane
Ralph Blane, born Ralph Uriah Hunsecker, was an American composer, lyricist, and performer. His career kicked off as a radio singer for NBC in the 1930s before moving to Broadway, featuring in several productions including 'New Faces of 1936' and 'Louisiana Purchase.' Blane formed a partnership with Hugh Martin; they crafted many American stage and film musical standards, most famously for the 1944 movie 'Meet Me in St. Louis.' Their iconic songs include 'The Boy Next Door,' 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,' and 'The Trolley Song.' Blane also collaborated with renowned composers like Harry Warren and Harold Arlen. Acknowledged for his contributions, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983.
