More about Phillip Faber
Philip Faber, also known as Fabri, was an Italian Franciscan theologian, philosopher and a notable commentator on Duns Scotus. Born in Spinata di Brisighella in 1564, he entered the Order of St. Francis at Cremona in 1582. After completing his studies, he taught in various monastic schools before taking the position of professor of philosophy in 1603, and then of theology in 1606 at the University of Padua. His lectures were highly acclaimed. Elected provincial of his order in 1625, he continued to expound on Duns Scotus's teachings. His most significant works include "De Primatu Petri et Romani Pontificis" and "Commentaries on the Metaphysics of Aristotle" which were published posthumously【15†source】.
