More about Peter Warlock
Philip Arnold Heseltine, known by the pseudonym Peter Warlock, was a British composer and music critic. His work, reflecting his interest in occult practices, included songs, vocal music, and contributions to early music scholarship. He maintained a close friendship with composer Frederick Delius and produced Delius's biography. Peter Warlock also edited The Sackbut and produced works on early music figures. His creative period peaked in the 1920s, with his song-cycles like 'Lilligay' and 'The Curlew'. His life was marked by depression and unconventional behavior, and he died in 1930, probably by suicide due to coal gas poisoning.
