More about Osvaldo Golijov
Osvaldo Noé Golijov is an Argentine composer of classical music and music professor, noted for his vocal and orchestral compositions. Born and raised in La Plata, Argentina, in a Romanian-Jewish family, he studied piano and composition locally before moving to Israel in 1983 to further his studies. After completing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in the United States, Golijov joined the faculty of the College of the Holy Cross. His works, often inspired by Jewish liturgical and klezmer music, include the opera 'Ainadamar' and the song cycle 'Falling Out of Time.'
