Michael Quinn

Michael Peter Finnissy (born 17 March 1946) is an English composer, pianist, and pedagogue. His music is distinguished by its dramatic urgency and expressive immediacy. Finnissy is often associated with the New Complexity movement, although he rejects this label. His works, particularly for piano, are known for their extreme technical demands. Finnissy's compositions are politically and socially engaged, reflecting cultural concerns, and he has written over 400 pieces.
