Martin Blunt

The Charlatans, an English rock band, were formed in 1988 in the West Midlands, England by bassist Martin Blunt, alongside Rob Collins, Jon Brookes, Jon Day, and singer Baz Ketley. Tim Burgess, who replaced Ketley, became the lead vocalist. Distinct for their fusion of 1960s soul, R&B, and garage rock, they became associated with the Madchester scene, though they originated in the West Midlands. Despite facing adversity like the loss of keyboardist Rob Collins in 1996, the band persevered and continued to make music, securing a place in the British rock narrative with hits like 'The Only One I Know' and 'One to Another'.
