Luca Lombardi, born in Rome on 24 December 1945, is an acclaimed Italian composer and musicologist. A student of Armando Renzi and Roberto Lupi, he pursued further studies at the Pesaro Conservatory under Boris Porena, achieving his diploma in 1970. Lombardi furthered his musicological studies at the University of Rome and honed his composition skills with Karlheinz Stockhausen, among others, in Cologne and with Paul Dessau in Berlin. From 1973 to 1994, he served as a professor of composition in Pesaro and Milan, after which he embarked on a successful freelance career. His compositional output spans around 180 works, including operas and symphonies. A member of prestigious academies in Berlin and Munich, Lombardi's music has been widely recognized and performed.
