Leo Robin (April 6, 1900 – December 29, 1984) was an American composer, lyricist, and songwriter known for his work in film and television. Robin’s notable collaborations include the Oscar-winning song 'Thanks for the Memory' with Ralph Rainger and 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' with Jule Styne. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he studied law and drama before venturing into songwriting. His Broadway hits began with 'By the Way' (1926) and followed by several other productions. In Hollywood, he worked for Paramount Pictures and formed a prolific partnership with Rainger. After Rainger's death, Robin worked with various composers, contributing to a vast number of popular songs and earning induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He retired in 1955 and passed away in Woodland Hills, California.
