More about Josef Rheinberger
Josef Gabriel Rheinberger was an organist and composer born on 17 March 1839 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. Showing exceptional musical talent by serving as an organist at just seven and composing at eight, he studied music in Feldkirch and Munich. Rheinberger held notable positions, including a professorship at the Munich Conservatorium and court conductor in Munich. His marriage to poet Franziska von Hoffnaass was significant in his vocal compositions. Influenced by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Schubert, and Bach, Rheinberger was a highly regarded teacher and composer, especially known for his organ works. He passed away on 25 November 1901 in Munich.
