Johnny Marr

Johnny Marr, born John Martin Maher on 31 October 1963, is an acclaimed English musician, songwriter, and singer best recognized as the guitarist and co-songwriter of the iconic band the Smiths from 1982 until 1987. He has been part of numerous groups post-Smiths and found success in his solo career, releasing albums such as 'The Messenger' in 2013. Marr is respected for his distinctive guitar playing and has been honored with awards including the NME's 'Godlike Genius'. His impactful autobiography, 'Set the Boy Free', came out in 2016.
