Johann Nepomuk Hummel

Johann Nepomuk Hummel (14 November 1778 – 17 October 1837) was an Austrian composer and virtuoso pianist. He was a pivotal figure in the transition from Classical to Romantic music, studying under Mozart, Salieri, and Clementi. He interacted with notable composers such as Beethoven and Schubert. Born in Pressburg (modern-day Bratislava, Slovakia), he was a child prodigy and a student of Mozart's. Hummel's extensive concert tours and a European tour with his father honed his skills further. His oeuvre mainly comprises piano works, contributing significantly to the instrument's repertoire.
