Iris ter Schiphorst, born on 22 May 1956 in Hamburg, is a German composer and musician distinguished for her electronic music and sampling techniques. Having started as a pianist, influenced by her German pianist mother, Schiphorst's musical ventures led her to form the electro-acoustic ensemble Intrors. With Intrors, she won the Blaue Brücke composition competition in 1997 for 'Silence Moves', collaborated with Helmut Oehring, and made significant recordings. Her work thrives at the intersection of classical and electronic domains, reflecting her deep engagement with musical innovation.
