Ian Paice

Ian Anderson Paice, born on 29 June 1948, is an English musician, best known as the drummer and last remaining original member of the rock band Deep Purple. He has been active in every line-up of the band since its inception in 1968 and has played on every album and live appearance. Paice was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Deep Purple in 2016. Prior to Deep Purple, he played in his father's dance band in the early 1960s and in several bands during the mid-1960s. He was also part of Whitesnake and Paice Ashton Lord, and has backed artists like Gary Moore.
