Gwyneth Walker

Gwyneth Van Anden Walker, born on March 22, 1947, is an American composer and music educator. Hailing from a Quaker family in New York, she grew up in New Canaan, Connecticut. Walker's early composition endeavours ultimately led her to acquire BA, MM, and DMA degrees in Music Composition from Brown University and the Hartt School of Music. She has taught at the Hartt School of Music, Hartford Conservatory, and Oberlin College Conservatory. After her teaching career, Walker moved to a Vermont dairy farm to dedicate herself entirely to composition.
