More about Graciano Tarrago
Gracià Tarragó i Pons, born in Salamanca, Spain on April 16, 1892, was a significant Spanish guitarist and composer, deeply rooted in Catalonia. Son of Ferran Tarragó i Corcelles and Antònia Pons i Rodriguez, his compositional style is noted for blending late Romanticism with musical nationalism, influenced by mentors such as Felip Pedrell and Miquel Llobet. In 1971, he founded the Quartet Tarragó with four of his students, which remained active until 1988. Tarragó's notable works include 'Método Graduado', '25 Melodic Studies', preludes, dances, and a collection of works based on Spanish popular music.
