Giorgio Federico Ghedini was an Italian composer, noted for his orchestral works, including a one-act opera based on Billy Budd, premiered in 1949. Born in Cuneo, he studied in Turin and graduated from the Bologna Conservatory in 1911. Ghedini focused on teaching composition at conservatories in Turin, Parma, and Milan. His pupils included Marcello and Claudio Abbado, Luciano Berio, and others. Ghedini's compositions often blend Renaissance and Baroque influences with modern styles.
