George Michael

George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, 25 June 1963 – 25 December 2016) was an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. With estimated sales of 100-125 million records worldwide, he was a best-selling musician, known for his songwriting, vocal performance, and visual presentation. His achievements include 10 US Billboard Hot 100 number ones, 13 UK Singles Chart number ones, two Grammy Awards, and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023. As a member of Wham! and as a solo artist, he excelled with hits like 'Careless Whisper' and albums like 'Faith'. Michael was also an active LGBT rights campaigner and charity fundraiser after coming out as gay in 1998.
