More about Frederick Loewe
Frederick Loewe, born in Berlin to Viennese parents, was an American composer notable for his collaboration with lyricist Alan Jay Lerner on Broadway musicals such as Brigadoon and My Fair Lady. His compositions often made their way to film adaptations, and he won numerous accolades, including Tony Awards and induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. After retiring to Palm Springs, he briefly returned to work with Lerner on stage adaptations and a musical film. Loewe remained active in the music scene until his death in 1988.
