More about Federico Mompou
Federico Mompou was a Spanish composer and pianist, known for his miniature and improvisatory music style. Born in Barcelona, he was influenced by French impressionism, Erik Satie, and Gabriel Fauré. Mompou was known for emphasizing concentration of expression in small forms and often omitted bar lines and key signatures in his work. Despite his shyness and avoiding public concerts, his compositions gained acclaim. After returning to Catalonia from Paris to avoid WWII, he continued composing, including his masterpiece Musica Callada. He received numerous awards throughout his career.
