Fausto Romitelli was an Italian composer renowned for his vibrant and innovative compositions. Born on 1 February 1963 in Gorizia, he honed his craft at the Milan Conservatory, further enriched by studies at Accademia Musicale Chigiana and Scuola Civica di Milano. A move to Paris in 1991 led him to study with Hugues Dufourt and Gérard Grisey, and he was a researcher at IRCAM from 1993 to 1995. Romitelli's works garnered international acclaim, particularly his video opera 'An Index of Metals'. He passed away on 27 June 2004 after a valiant struggle with cancer.
