Thomas Wright 'Fats' Waller was an American jazz pianist, organist, composer, and singer. Renowned for his innovative strides in Harlem stride piano, he was a celebrated figure in the jazz and swing eras. His famous compositions 'Ain't Misbehavin'' and 'Honeysuckle Rose' were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. During his career, he copyrighted over 400 songs, many with lyricist Andy Razaf. Waller’s life was cut short when he died of pneumonia at the age of 39.
