Fabio Nieder, born October 27, 1957, in Trieste, Italy, is a renowned composer, pianist, and conductor with both Italian and German citizenship. He studied at the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste and later with Witold Lutosławski. Nurtured by Central Europe's rich cultural milieu, Nieder developed an affinity for the German Lied tradition, collaborating with singers like Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Alfredo Kraus. Founder of the Florestan-Eusebius Ensemble, he has also worked with prominent contemporary music ensembles. His compositions have been featured across major festivals and venues, and he has been awarded prestigious prizes. Nieder, a passionate educator, has taught at the Conservatories of Amsterdam and Trieste, and lives in Germany.
