Erwin Christian Scholz

Austrian pianist, composer, and musicologist Erwin Christian Scholz had an impactful career in music education. After studies at the State Academy for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Scholz led the Bocklett Piano School beginning in 1932, taught music theory at Urania, and instructed at the Realgymnasium Vienna from 1934 to 1939. He later headed the piano class at the Horak Conservatory and lectured at the Federal Teacher Training Institute in Vienna. In 1954, Scholz joined the Music Academy, where he was named professor in 1956 and subsequently became emeritus in 1977`[1]`.
