Emily Lenore Doolittle, born on 16 October 1972, is a Canadian composer and zoomusicologist. She is also an Athenaeum Research Fellow and Lecturer in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Her compositions, especially reflecting her interest in folklore and the natural world, are internationally recognized and performed. Emily's work encompasses exploring zoomusicology, the study of animal and human song, which led her to significant interdisciplinary research and discovering that hermit thrush song follows the overtone series. With a decorated career punctuated by numerous awards and notable commissions, she impacts the contemporary classical music scene.
