Elbow

Guy Edward John Garvey, born on 6 March 1974, is an English musician and the frontman of the rock band Elbow. Raised in a large working-class family in Bury, Greater Manchester, Garvey faced bullying in his school years. Despite his parents' separation at a young age, he found solace in music. With his college mates, Garvey formed Elbow and became its lyricist. Throughout his career, he has earned accolades for his songwriting, such as two Ivor Novello awards. Additionally, Garvey has produced records, been a radio presenter on BBC Radio 6 Music since 2007, and received an honorary doctorate for his contributions to music.
