Colin Matthews

Colin Matthews, OBE (born 13 February 1946) is an English composer of contemporary classical music. He is recognized for his large-scale orchestral works and prolific arrangements, including those of Berlioz, Britten, Dowland, Mahler, Purcell, and Schubert. Also notable are his orchestrations of Debussy's Préludes, Images, and selections from Ravel's Miroirs. Matthews received a doctorate on the works of Mahler from the University of Sussex and collaborated on completing Mahler's Tenth Symphony.
