More about Bernie Taupin
Bernie Taupin, born on 22 May 1950 in Lincolnshire, England, is an iconic lyricist best known for his long-time collaboration with Elton John. Taupin's verse accompanied John's melodies in some of the most popular songs of the 20th century. Moving to the US in the mid-1970s and later becoming a US citizen in 1990, Taupin also ventured into solo recordings, albeit with lesser success compared to his collaborations. He formed the band Farm Dogs in the 1990s, exploring a grittier musical style. An avid artist, Taupin's visual work has been exhibited across North America. Recognized for his musical contributions, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2022. Taupin has been married four times and has two daughters with his current wife Heather Kidd.
