More about Arnold Bax
Arnold Edward Trevor Bax KCVO, born 8 November 1883 in Streatham, London, was an English composer, poet, and author renowned for his orchestral music. Graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Bax garnered attention for works like the symphonic poem Tintagel. His deep fascination with Ireland and its culture significantly colored his early compositions. Despite his accomplishments, which include seven symphonies and a tenure as Master of the King's Music, his music eventually fell out of favor and remained neglected after his death on 3 October 1953.
