2. Content and publishers
2.1. What can I access with my subscription?
You will have access to the entire nkoda library - which includes the catalogues of around 100 publishers (see below).
2.2. What publisher catalogues do you have?
The hire, sales and educational catalogues from around 100 publishers are being made available through nkoda, but this number is constantly growing. Find the full list here.
2.3. Are you a publisher?
We’d love to connect with you! To find out more about making your music available on nkoda, get in touch with us at publish@nkoda.com
2.4. What artists and composers do you have on nkoda?
We have tens of thousands of artists available on nkoda including composers, editors, arrangers, performers, performing groups, etc.
We’re always looking to add more music from the artists and composers you love. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please fill out a request form here or email us at support@nkoda.com as we may be in the process of adding it!
2.5. Are composers and editors being paid when I access music on nkoda?
Absolutely. nkoda licenses all the music through leading publishers and we distribute the revenue we receive from your subscriptions to the publishers directly - making it possible for composers to continue writing music we all get to enjoy.
2.6. Can I download or print content from nkoda?
It’s not possible to download or print scores from nkoda. The main reason for not allowing print is to ensure the security of our publishing partners’ materials, as well as ensuring that all composers and content creators are remunerated fairly.
By providing scores and parts digitally, we believe that we’re removing many of the barriers to access that exists with paper scores - we hope this approach will lead to a fairer environment for anyone wanting to engage with notated music. nkoda is run by musicians, so we still love physical scores, it’s just not why we started this project.
Though you cannot print, you can save materials ‘offline’ in case you need access to them when you don’t have access to the internet.
2.7. Can I view scores from nkoda on several devices?
To ensure that publishers and composers are remunerated fairly, we have to limit usage to one device at a time. You can, however, be signed-in on multiple accounts simultaneously, but can only view content on one device at a time.
We understand that it’s a pain, but to ensure the security of our publishing partners’ content it’s a necessary evil. We are working on a solution to allow music educators to share their screen with a class, as we realise how integral that activity is for teaching.
3. Languages and location
3.1. What countries can I use the app in?
We are available in all countries worldwide that support the app stores listed above. So pack nkoda and take the music you love wherever you go.
Due to our agreements with publishers, not all works are available globally. We understand that this can be frustrating, but trust us, we are working hard to make all the music accessible everywhere.
