Steven Alexander James

Steven Alexander James, FRSA (born 21 November 1968), is an English musician known primarily as the bassist of the rock band Blur. His musical journey began in Boscombe, Bournemouth, where he was inspired by The Beatles to pursue a career in music. After meeting future bandmate Graham Coxon at Goldsmiths College, where James studied French, he joined the nascent band Seymour, which was subsequently renamed Blur. Throughout his career, James has also collaborated with various bands and projects, adding his distinctive bass lines and participating in multiple creative ventures both within and outside the music industry.
