Sean Shepherd

Sean Shepherd is an American composer based in New York City and Chicago. He has been performed by major orchestras and ensembles worldwide, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Shepherd's education includes studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Juilliard School, and doctoral work at Cornell University. Named the Kravis Emerging Composer of the New York Philharmonic in 2012, his compositions, such as 'Blue Blazes', have gained significant recognition. In 2021, his works featured prominently in music festivals and he served as a finalist judge for the BMI Student Composer Awards.
