Samir Odeh-Tamimi

Born on Jan 5, 1970, in Jaljuliya near Tel Aviv, Israel, Samir Odeh-Tamimi is a Palestinian-Israeli composer who has engaged deeply with traditional Arabian music. He studied musicology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel from 1992-96 and then composition and music analysis at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. Odeh-Tamimi's work has been recognized and performed internationally, with multiple world premieres and compositions. He has collaborated with a variety of ensembles and was honored by a dedicated CD from the Deutscher Musikrat in 2011. He resides in Berlin as a freelance composer.
