Robert King is an English conductor, harpsichordist, editor, and author born on 27 June 1960 in Wombourne, Staffordshire, England. As a conductor, he has a notable focus on period performance of Baroque and early modern classical music. He founded The King's Consort in 1980 and has made over 100 recordings. His career also includes work with numerous orchestras across Europe and North America, as well as contributions to the scores of popular films. Despite his significant contributions to music, his career was marred by a conviction for indecent assault in 2007, for which he served a custodial sentence and was placed on the sex offenders' register for life`[1]`.
