Reinhard Febel is a German composer, music theorist, and university professor, recognized especially for his operatic works. Born on July 3, 1952, in Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg, he underwent music education in Stuttgart and Freiburg, and furthered his studies in electronic music at IRCAM in Paris. Throughout his career, Febel has created a diverse body of work that includes operas, symphonies, and chamber music, often characterized by a blend of tonal and atonal elements, and has been influenced by his experiences abroad.
