Born in Graulhet, Dubois studied at the Paris Conservatoire, garnered a Prix de Rome in 1955, and became a respected composer for woodwinds. His notable works include a Quartet for Saxophones and Symphonie-sérénade. He was also a professor at Paris Conservatoire and died in Rocquencourt.
