Internationally highly acclaimed as pedagogue and one of today’s leading marimbists throughout the world, Ludwig Albert belongs as Belgian leading marimbist and pioneer with the absolute top flight of marimbists nowadays. After obtaining the virtuoso prize and his master degree, he shaped his talent with Keiko Abe in Japan and was honored since to perform with her several concert-productions. Until 2010 he appeared as Yamaha artist, is related as Adams Artist from 2011 and assisted in the construction and release of his own new signature Adams marimba model, an honor for the first time presented to a European marimba virtuoso. Showered with several tittles, he released 9 label albums with mainly first recordings of masterworks, own compositions, improvisations, arrangements and dedicated works. He astonished his audience by playing in première the marimba with 8 mallets. Praised for his unique sound he’s performing worldwide concerts and clinics at prestigious festivals and universities. He’s related as titular professor marimba at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp (University College of Music), as titular professor of the percussion & marimba department at the Leuven University College of Arts ( Lemmens institute) and as guest-professor at the National University in Chiapas-Mexico. Both Belgian leading Universities and Europe’s largest Art faculties has aided and designed for several years in the European creation of a new Marimba Master program and degree. Helping to drive that program is the Ludwig Albert Method, a unique new approach developing the musicality and producing a revolutionary new sonority. His career extended being the founder and organiser of several academies and competitions such as the Ludwig Albert International Marimba Academy and the prestigious Universal Marimba Competition Belgium. This prestigious competition received for the first time the High Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Paola from 2011. (www.marimbacompetition.com). At present he signed up with American label and will release 4 new celebration albums during 2013. He is preparing the world première and first recordings of several new commissioned and dedicated concerto’s during 2012-13, including his own new double concerto. He also presents Innovative percussion US which produces his signature mallet line.
