James Milne Walsh, born on 10th June 1980 in Wigan, is an English musician and the lead singer of the band Starsailor, which was named after Tim Buckley's album. Walsh grew up in Chorley and attended St Michael's CE School. He began playing piano at the age of 12 and wrote songs by the time he was 14, drawing inspiration from The Charlatans, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, and The Beatles. His band formed while he studied at the Wigan and Leigh College's Leigh campus and has produced several albums and singles. Walsh is also known for a feud with Noel Gallagher of Oasis, which was later resolved`[1]``[2]``[3]`.
