Gustav Gerson Kahn, born on November 6, 1886, in Bruschied, was a distinguished American lyricist. His Jewish family migrated to the United States in 1890, settling in Chicago. Kahn's prolific career flourished in Tin Pan Alley, penning numerous hits for the Great American Songbook. He partnered with greats like Isham Jones and Walter Donaldson, contributing to iconic songs like 'Makin' Whoopee' and 'I'll See You in My Dreams.' His work extended to Broadway and Hollywood, shaping the musical landscape of the early 20th century. Kahn passed away on October 8, 1941, in Beverly Hills.
