Gary Carpenter

Gary Carpenter, a British composer born in 1951, is recognized for his concert music, film scores, as well as operas and musicals. His notable works include being a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. Carpenter holds a reputation for his contributions to the film industry, being the Associate Music Director for 'The Wicker Man', and a director of the Ivors Academy until 2021. During the 2018-19 season, he served as the Composer in Association with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. His piece 'Dadaville' was premiered on the First Night of the Proms on 17 July 2015.
