Anton Diabelli

Austrian music publisher, editor, and composer Anton Diabelli was known for his educational music and his significant role in publishing Beethoven and Schubert's works. Born in Mattsee and initially trained for priesthood, Diabelli shifted to music, moving to Vienna where he taught and published, later forming his own company which promoted both entertainment and serious music. He retired in 1851, leaving a legacy of works, particularly for piano and guitar.
