Matthew Montague

Matthew G. Montague is Coordinator of Music Education and Professor of Music Education at Pittsburg State University. He has conducted hundreds of choral performances in the United States, Russia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. His conducting experience includes non-audition middle school choirs, regional high school honor choirs, and master class performances with the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus and Orchestra. A recipient of the Idaho Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, Montague has been active as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor in Kansas and throughout the western United States. Montague received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Oregon, and a Ph.D. in Music Education, also from the University of Oregon.
